Brandon McDaniel

Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Los Angeles Dodgers

Experience:
Brandon McDaniel just completed his 10th year working in the field of strength and conditioning and his 8th year in professional baseball including the last three as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he worked as a Performance Specialist for EXOS in the Department of Defense out of the Fort Meade Army Base near Baltimore, MD from 2010 to 2011. His primary responsibility was to design a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for each member of the Unit that he worked with that would better prepare them for their duties within the Army. Each soldier was thoroughly screened and then given a personalized program based on their strengths, limitations and job requirements.

Before working for EXOS, Brandon was a minor league Strength and Conditioning coach for the Pittsburgh Pirates working with the Gulf Coast League in 2007 and AA Altoona Curve in 2008 and 2009. During the 2007-2010 off-seasons he was a personal trainer for athletes and various other populations at Lifetime Fitness in Omaha Nebraska. In addition to his duties with the Dodgers, Brandon has served as a consult for TRIUS, a performance education group in Seoul, Korea from 2014 to the present. Brandon aids in building continuing education for Strength Coaches in other countries, specifically for the baseball population. He has spent time in Seoul, Korea and Okinawa, Japan with strength coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists and surgeons, educating them on the importance of strength and conditioning for the prevention of injury.

Brandon graduated from Wayne State College where he earned two letters in baseball and received a BS degree in Exercise Science in 2007. In 2009 he enrolled in the Master's Program at A. T. Still University in Mesa, AZ and earned a Master's Degree in Human Movement in 2010. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Assocation (NSCA). He also upholds USAW, SFG Level 1, FMS, NASM PES, and NASM CES certifications.
